My Philosophy Notebook

Throughout the ages, people have asked deep questions about subjects such as existence, knowledge, language, reason, and goodness. We call this questioning activity, which each age and movement has done with its own methods, philosophy. Philosophia, which is composed of the Greek words philos, meaning love, and sophia, meaning wisdom, means love of wisdom or knowledge. Although it is not certain, Pythagoras was the first to use the word.

The study of philosophers and schools of thought throughout history is the subject of the history of philosophy. On this site, which I call My Philosophy Notebook, I publish a mini history of philosophy using primary sources such as my undergraduate education textbooks, Wikipedia, Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, etc. You can find the names of the books you can read further in the texts.
